Orthopedic Inserts are for 26 Year Olds

I wish I had a really cool story about how I hurt my foot. I could say "Well, I was training for another marathon..." or maybe even "I was rock climbing with my very toned arms and butt and then my foot just slipped off of the foot-holder-thing and that's how it happened!"..... but none of that is true.

Especially the toned arms and butt part.

All I know is that I was walking around like normal, and then I stood up and I was not walking normal.

True story.

Anyways, I'm not using the crutches because they are cumbersome. I did buy some super comfy Dr. Scholl's inserts for my shoes and they are rocking my world.

I've got a lot planned today. I have some business meetings this afternoon but first and foremost this morning I am going to go get myself an ever-loving pedicure and an ever-loving eyebrow wax, because, let me tell you WE HAVE REACHED THE POINT WHERE THEY ARE NECESSARY.

Also, I plan on stopping by Target to buy this mascara because I'm pretty sure my eyelashes will be voluminous and there will be one million of them.

They will look just like Eva Longoria's and Jennifer Lopez's from the commercials. I'll let you know how it works out.

I Burnt the Cookies

Grant kindly asked me if I would make cookies.

I did. And I put them in the oven.

And then I left the room.

And then half an hour later, I came back into the kitchen.

And then I smelled them.

OOPS.

My kitchen stinks.

They are a lovely shade of black.

I'm just glad I ate a little bit of dough before I put them in the oven.

Maybe I subconsciously burned the cookies on purpose because I did a lot of exercising  today and I knew the cookies would ruin it all my hard work.

Poor cookies.

Poor husband.

Long and Lean

My freshman year of college, I took a ballet class three days a week for a dance credit. That's what happens when you're a Musical Theater major :)

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I would change into pink tights and a leotard and spend my morning at the barre in my tiny pink ballet shoes. I remember leaving there always feeling very exhausted, but like I had just had a great stretch!

If I look at pictures from my freshman year of college, it's one of those "MAN, I wish I still looked like that!". I didn't look so short and squatty.  Not so many curves. Longer lines. I miss it...

I really think it was the ballet. All the leaping and stretching made me very toned. Do they have adult ballet classes? I mean, I'm not looking to become the world's best ballet dancer (and let me tell you, that is the world's largest improbability) but I am thinking I'd like to take ballet again at a beginner level but with the adult folk. Not so much with the 3 year olds.

I just wanna be lean and not squatty.

Anybody wanna take a ballet class with me? ;)

Move That Bus!

Well, the night started out rough.

Our van got broken into AGAIN. The battery was stolen from it AGAIN. And the bus wasn't cooperating.

AGAIN.

But, by the power of prayer (and some muscle men) we got things rollin' and got the kiddos home safely.

We get by with a little help from our friends :)

Ten O'Clock Tacos

We've been doing Houston Project every night this week. It's been GREAT, but let me tell you.... when we get home we are TIRED and we are HUNGRY.

When I type in ALL CAPS I am hoping that you will get that I am speaking EMPHATICALLY but I am not YELLING AT YOU.

Anyhoo, when we get home it is after 9:30 and I try to whip up a quick meal for me and my darling, handsome husband.

Tonight, we ate tacos.

I believe that tacos at 10:00 at night is the best time to eat a taco. It takes me back to the nights at Taco C with my friends at 2 in the morning. (Tortillas and queso, anyone?)

Anyways, tonight was great. We had some major hiccups with transportation. We pick kids up from various apartment complexes in the area. Problem was, our bus broke down tonight, and someone clipped the battery out of the van. So we were a little perplexed. But seriously, by the power of prayer, we got the bus up and running and we got over 50 kids to VBS! They are so cute.

I lead opening assemblies. I do cool dance moved. Like the robot. It's legit.
