The Headpiece

My friend Sarah is a fabulous photographer. Her photos are so vivid and colorful and bright.

She is also a fabulous friend and I just love her to pieces.

Well, she photographed a wedding recently and she sent me this photo. She said she felt like I needed to blog about it.
And, after seeing it, I also believe I need to blog about it.

Let's discuss.

What is this? Is it a hat? Is it a bow? Is it a scrunchie?

Am I correct in assuming that it is as large as someone's head?

Is it a flower?

And more importantly, WHY?

A few observations:

I love that as Sarah was walking around taking photographs of the cake and the bride and the people, she walked past that girl and thought "Oh, I need to take a picture of that" and then she did.

I think the girls dress is very, very pretty. Lovely color.

She has nice highlights in her hair.

If you know this person, I am sorry.

But Sarah is right.

Can anyone shed some light on what this is?!

PS, I think this is someone's grandmother. : )So sorry lady. You were adorable. Love the ponytail, minus the giant bow thingy.

My question to you is, "Why is it ok for people to adorn a baby's head with a flower the size of her head, but it is no longer ok as an adult to wear noggin-sized nature-spired decor?"

Oh my. It is just like those big bows for babies which I'm not a fan of either. Maybe they are coming in style but just not in Houston yet. Like my high school was like 3 years behind the cool clothes.
