HAPPY 2011!!
As we begin the new year, I find it very helpful to have a fresh start. A clean slate.
Which is why on New Year's Eve I went ahead and started my fresh start with a pedicure and an eyebrow wax.
One of the attorneys at my office gave me $50 for Christmas and I felt that I should put it towards something that makes me feel good. And nothing makes me feel like a new woman more than pretty toes and well-groomed eyebrows.
It has been a busy, productive weekend here at the house. On Saturday we had something we like to call "Purge Day" here which is where we GET STUFF THE HECK OUT OF THE HOUSE. I cleaned out the fridge, the pantry, our closet, the drawers..... bags and bags are ready to go to Goodwill. LESS IS MORE, PEOPLE. And, to be honest, I have a deep, dark fear that I am going to end up on the show "Hoarders".
THAT SHOW IS CRAZY TOWN.
We spent most of today cleaning. And I mean the real thing. Cleaning for real. Lysol, Febreeze, 409, The-toilet-water-is-now-blue kind of cleaning.
And then I went to the grocery store and then I came home and then I cooked dinner and then I watched some funny shows with my husband and now I am relaxed and chill and my home is clean and pretty.
For the record, the Christmas tree is in the garage until we decide what to do with it.

I am 100% with you on the need to purge and start fresh! I was home in Texas visiting my family for a week and a half and when I walked into our condo Wednesday night... well, let's just say The Boyfriend reverted to bachelor lifestyle while I was away. Due to a whirlwind weekend, the first chance that I had to clean was yesterday afternoon. I literally walked in the door, dropped my purse, and started scrubbing. I have to say, few things feel as good as sitting down at the end of the day and enjoying a sparkling clean home! A fresh pedi never hurts either :) Happy New Year!
Ohhhhh, I hear you on the purging of JUNK! I'm on day 4 and I'm embarrassed to say, I'm still not done!!! It feels so good to de-clutter!
